How do I download the app?

Search ‘Lunches 4 School’ on your smartphone’s app store, or follow the links below.
 
Select ‘Get’ or ‘Install’ depending on your device.

You will then be prompted to sign up:

Confirm your school by entering its unique code.
Enter your child’s details.
If you are registering more than one child, tap the back button and select ‘Add Account’.

It’s the quickest way to manage your school lunch delivery Ireland orders right from your phone.

Question 2

How do I set up an account for new Junior Infants pupils for the 2025/2026 school year?

Your school will release our App tutorial, along with the school's unique pin code for setting up your child's account.

How far in advance should I place school meal orders?

Accepted Answer

We recommend placing all your child’s meal orders for the 4-week period as soon as you receive the app notification — it helps us plan ahead and ensures your child gets the meals they love. But don’t worry — you’re not locked in!

You can place, cancel, or amend orders in the app up to 10 days before delivery.
When the order window first opens, there’s a 5-day lead time for the first week only. After that, it reverts to the standard 10-day lead time.

Need to make a last-minute change? Contact our office — we can help with updates up to 2 days before delivery (excluding weekends).

We work on a lead time to give our local suppliers time to source the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.

Question 4

How do I order my child's lunches?

Select your child's account and then select 'Place Order'
You will see a selection of dates, click into the date you want to start ordering from and then click through to the menu.
Select your chosen dish for that particular day and add to basket.
Tap the basket button at the bottom of the screen and select 'Place Order'.
Next, select 'Order Next Day' to move onto the following day.

A Red tab indicates that no lunch can be ordered for this date (school closure etc.)
A Green tab indicates that you haven't placed an order for this date yet.
A Yellow Tick indicates that lunch has been ordered for this date.

Question 5

How do I create an account for more than one child?

Accepted Answer

Select the back button on the top left of the Home Screen (where your child’s name is visible).
This will bring you to another page, then you can add another account.
Create this account and save.

How often do I need to place an order?

Accepted Answer

When the order window first opens, there’s a shorter 5-day lead time for the first week. After that, it reverts to the usual 10-day lead time for all future deliveries.

You can place, amend, cancel, or add orders up to 10 days before delivery directly in the app.

We recommend placing orders for 4 weeks at a time — that way, you can set it and forget it until next month! It’s the easiest way to make sure your child’s meals are sorted and you don’t miss a deadline.

Need to make a last-minute change within the 10 day lead time? Just contact our office — we can accommodate amendments up to 2 days before delivery (weekends excluded).

Question 7

I ordered the wrong thing!

Don't worry! Just open the app and tap the date of the order you'd like to update.

You can make changes up to 10 days before your delivery date directly in the app.
If you're within the 10-day window, reach out to us — we're happy to help!
We can accommodate amendments up to 48 hours before delivery (excluding weekends).

Question 8

Where can I find nutritional information for each meal?

Nutritional information is available on the app, just tap the meal icon and the information will appear at the bottom of your screen.

We do our best to make sure all nutritional info is accurate, but keep in mind that our meals are hand-portioned, so sizes might vary a little. These small differences won’t affect the overall quality of the meal.

My child has allergies!

Not to worry! Allergen's are highlighted on every dish on the app.

When setting up your child's profile, you have the option to turn on allergen tags - If an allergen tag is selected, any items containing the allergen ingredient will be restricted from being added to the basket.

We take food allergies and dietary needs seriously — allergen info is clearly labelled, and we follow strict procedures to avoid cross-contamination, but please note that meals are prepared in a shared kitchen.

How is the food delivered?

Hot meals are delivered in black thermal boxes with heat blocks.
Cold food delivered in cool boxes with cold packs.

Do you provide Vegetarian Options?

Accepted Answer

Yes! In our Hot Food Menu as well as our Cold Food Menu, every week there is an option for Vegetarians.

Is your meat Halal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, all of our poultry is certified Halal.

Do you provide hot and cold school lunches around Ireland?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lunches4School provides both hot school lunches around  Ireland and cold school lunches delivered directly to schools. Our menus are designed to be nutritious, child-friendly, and convenient for schools and parents.

Can my food be re-heated later?

Accepted Answer

No, the hot food provided cannot be reheated and must be consumed within 90 minutes

Why can’t I order the Ham every day for my child?

Accepted Answer

The Government, through Healthy Ireland introduced Nutritional Guidelines for School Meals in 2018. This restricted the supply of Ham so Children should have a variety of meals or sandwiches each day.

Question 17

I can't select my child's class/teacher from the dropdown menu.

Accepted Answer

We are aware of this and are working to get it rectified.

For now, you can select any teacher from your child's school.

Once the account is set up, and you are on the home page, select the 'Profile' button on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.

From here tap on the teacher's name/class and you will see a dropdown menu with a list of teachers and classes.

Select the correct teacher and save.

Question 18

My child cancelled their lunch last year/last term, but would like to join again.  How do I do this?

Accepted Answer

No problem! Just reinstall the app and follow the steps to start the sign-up process again.

If you opted out last term, please email us at admin@lunches4school.ie to let us know your child is re-joining.

It’s also important to inform your child’s school so they’re aware of the update.
